12 Mar Helping Make Senior Travel Easy
I am really excited about the fact that as a senior you have many opportunities to travel at a discount because everybody else is doing something else. So let’s look at the health behind your travel.
Make sure that you have plenty of medication with you or order ahead of time so that you have enough to take on your trip with you. Talk to your doctor if you have a certain condition that you’re worried about or have a condition that you should be talking about before you travel and make your plans. Discuss that with your doctor.
And if you need special accommodations for a wheelchair or walker, there are all kinds of special arrangements that can be handled for you. So what kind of length of time do you want to spend on your trip? Is it for a weekend, a week, a month? How would you like to travel and with who? Would you like to go by yourself or you’re going with a spouse, or a group travel? What type of travel would you like to do? Are you going on a plane, train, automobile, or how about a cruise? There’s some wonderful river cruises now and people are enjoying those for a week’s period of time or for a month.
The best thing to do really is to talk to a travel agent. Believe it or not, they still exist and they can sit down and kind of create your dream vacation with you. And also, if you need those special accommodations, they can set those up ahead of time for you. Also, companies like Premiere World Discovery, they have wonderful guided tours so if actually want to go by yourself and meet with other people, and have an opportunity to just be on a trip where everything’s planned for you, it’s a fantastic opportunity.
I also want you to travel safely. So let’s make sure that you stay with your luggage, that you don’t travel with too many credit cards. And one extra little tip is travel with a flashlight. It comes in handy if you ever get off-guard and you’re in the dark or you just need that for a little extra light for reading.
