Senior Solutions on Activities

active senior

We know that if we stay engaged and stay social, we actually age more successfully. So let me give you a few opportunities to look into some things for yourself. People age at different levels, we’re able to do different things, so I have a variety of different things to present to you. So you might want to grab a pen and some paper. I did a little Google search, and we can do a little calling, but let me share what I came up with for you. So I looked up Trip Advisor, senior activities in Los Angeles, and over three hundred things came up. So there’s a variety of things that you can choose from, whether that’s going to the Getty, going to Griffith Park. Have you ever been to a museum for cars? That might be something you want to look into too. In addition you can look up the senior center in your city. So look up and see what kinds of concerts might be in the park. A lot of those are free. The Levitt Pavilion, say in Pasadena, almost every single night this summer they will offer a free concert. Take your chair, take some food, and just enjoy the evening for free. But you also have the ability to get out and be with others. How often do you get that opportunity?

Are you talking to friends on the phone? Are you talking to your neighbors? Are you staying engaged? Are you staving depression? So that’s what we really want to focus on: making sure that you’re staying active, staying hydrated in the heat, making sure that you are enjoying activities all over. And once you are able to decide what places you want to go, maybe you need some transportation to get there. So if you’re not able to drive there are lots of opportunities to still get out and make sure that you’re able to be out and having fun.

So look into maybe a home care agency that can spend a few hours with you. Look into Dial a Ride access. Look into using the metro system. All kinds of ways for you to be able to get around, and be active, and enjoy your summer activities.

Remember: Be well, age well!
